"The Lake of the Woods Section of the Canadian Institute
of Forestry is one of 23 sections across Canada. The section
was granted official standing in March, 1953. The section
is comprised of forestry practitioners and those with a keen
interest in natural resources. "
"Lake of the Woods is located in the most northwesterly
portion of Ontario; adjacent to the Manitoba section in the
west, and the Northwestern Ontario section in the east. The
section borders on the state of Minnesota to the south. The
largest communities in the section include Kenora, Red Lake,
Ear Falls, Dryden, Ignace, Sioux Lookout, Vermilion Bay, Rainy
River and Fort Frances."
